Brinzolamide is a drug used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It belongs to the class of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. By inhibiting carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary body of the eye, it reduces aqueous humor secretion and thereby lowers intraocular pressure. It is usually formulated as eye drops with a concentration of approximately 1%.
