Timolol maleate‌ is a non-selective β-blocker (Ki: 1.97 nM/β₁, 2.0 nM/β₂) that reduces intraocular pressure by inhibiting aqueous humor production, primarily used in glaucoma therapy.
This white crystalline powder (m.p. 202–203°C) is formulated as eye drops (e.g., Timoptic®) and also treats hypertension/migraine via β-receptor antagonism.
